Ever since the trailer of SonyLIV’s riveting series Avrodh 2 was released, the audience has been waiting for its launch with bated breath. The second season promises a lot more drama and action, as all the characters come together to tackle bigger twists and turns that come their way, each going to different lengths to fulfill their own agendas. The show is inspired by the book ‘India’s Most Fearless 2’ by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, Chapter 9 – “Just tell me when to begin sir”. In addition to familiar faces from the first season, we’ll see a number of well-known actors join the cast, including Aahana Kumra.

Aahana plays the role of Parveena Shahnaz, the trusted undercover agent of the militant head Waziri (Sanjay Suri). Working under the façade of an NGO worker, she blindly executes her mentor’s plans to take down the country. Playing a dark character for the first time ever, Aahana recalls her experience of what tested her the most as an actor.

Elaborating on her most challenging scene, she added, “Every scene has its own method, and a madness to that method. The last scene demanded a lot from me, both physically and emotionally, and I had a meltdown during its filming which required me to not speak to anybody during the 2-3 days of the shoot. I had to literally cut myself off from everyone. The show has been wonderfully written and directed by a skilled director like Raj Acharya, who has woven the intricate storyline rather seamlessly, holding our hands throughout the show.”

Avrodh 2 is directed by Raj Acharya and produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Juggernaut productions. The story is helmed by writers Brijesh Jayrajan, and Sudeep Nigam. Starring Abir Chatterjee, Mohan Agashe, Neeraj Kabi, Anant Mahadevan, Aahana Kumra, Rajesh Khattar, Sanjay Suri, and Vijay Krishna amongst others, the show will stream exclusively on SonyLIV from 24th June.
